All events are open to all Mensa members, and to guests who accompany Mensa members. Events in public places (restaurants, pool halls, etc.) are also open to the public – and are especially open to prospective members.

RSVPs are not required, except as noted. Think "big party requiring lots of in-advance logistical planning".

Hosts/hostesses sometimes invite non-members – sometimes not even prospective members – to attend. Cool! New friends to make! They also sometimes have a dog/cat/other-allergy-source on site, and/or ask smokers to step outside (and downwind). See "Calendar Deadline" below (1st or 2nd Monday) for details.  If this is a concern for you, then call ahead (or look for specifics in the announcement). If this isn't a concern for you, then just show up.

If you (and/or your guest) don't want even a skinny photo taken, please notify the host/hostess. If the host/hostess seems unconcerned about your concerns, please notify the Calendar Editor. He’ll at least remove the photo(s) from the on-line editions, and also Will Have A Word with the host/hostess.
